El Dorado County attack suspect found dead in American River after storm, sheriff says
A man wanted in connection with an attack that injured two people in El Dorado County last month was found dead in the American River on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Bruce Gordon’s body was recovered from the South Fork of the river “after the storm weather,” the sheriff’s office said. Investigators are looking to determine the cause of death.

On Dec. 12, El Dorado County officials issued an arrest warrant for Gordon in connection with an early morning attack that day in the community of Pilot Hill.
Two people were sent to the hospital with “significant injury,” the sheriff's office said at the time. The man was gone before deputies arrived at the scene in the 5300 block of Meadow Croft Lane.
It is not clear what led up to the attack and if the three people knew each other.
Pilot Hill is a community roughly 12 miles southeast of Auburn and about 18 miles northwest of Placerville.
