Dozens rescued from Highway 99 after vehicles get stuck in floodwaters; 1 found dead
Crews searching for a missing person near Highway 99 in Sacramento County on Sunday found a vehicle submerged in floodwaters with a body inside.
The Cosumnes Fire Department said the deceased person was found in the area of Dillard Road and Highway 99.
Flooding on that part of Highway 99 had led to vehicles being stuck on the roadway and dozens of people were rescued as of Sunday morning, a fire official said.

Caltrans said Highway 99 is closed 1.4 miles south of Elk Gove at Dillard Road.
Chief Meteorologist Mark Finan reported from Dillard Road Sunday morning that there were a number of rescue vehicles on the scene. He said he saw a helicopter that took two people to safety.

Chris Schamber, a fire captain with the Cosumnes Fire Department, said "dozens upon dozens" of people have been rescued in the area and called for people to stay home.
The area is being affected by flooding from the Cosumnes River and Deer Creek. The Cosumnes River was expected to crest on Sunday afternoon.
